After months of struggling to restore her pre-baby body, Jessica Simpson announced today on Katie Couric's talk show that she has shed 40 pounds from her highest weight, which reportedly was 170 pounds. As she now says ruefully, "All the weight did not come out with the baby!" Jessica used Weight Watchers to succeed with her weight loss goals, and the company announced today that they are featuring her in their new fall campaign.
Jessica will discuss her decision to join Weight Watchers and her experiences in the new ads. "I've tried every diet in the book and realized that this time I'm going to adopt healthy habits that can last a lifetime," Jessica declared. "I'm committed to setting a good example for my daughter and to me that means eating the foods I love while learning to control portions and make healthier choices. The eye-opener for me is that for the first time I'm losing weight without feeling deprived. I'm just getting started, but it's working and I feel great."
Just as with regular Weight Watchers members, Jessica participates in regular meetings. In her case, she holds the meetings at her home with her family and friends. She even purchased them all pedometers to encourage them to exercise, tweeting proudly, "I bought all the girls in my @weightwatchers group pedometers to track their steps.
