Urging vegan virtue, PETA wants Honey Boo Boo to name pet chicken Not a Nugget

Not even the most idealistic vegan can envision Honey Boo Boo suddenly announcing that she wants to follow a plant-based diet. This is a child whose family regularly goes to barbecue restaurants, where Honey Boo Boo announces, "I want the chicken, and the barbecue and then I want the ribs." Instead, the animal rights organization wrote Honey Boo Boo a letter urging her to rename her chicken "Not a Nugget." In the letter, PETA made the case for the chicken's new name.

"As I'm sure you are learning from your chicken, chickens are smart, interesting animals with personalities of their own," the letter said sweetly. "Changing Nugget's name to 'Not a Nugget' will let your fans know that they should be nice to chickens by not eating them." And just to add value to this sentiment, PETA provided her with her very own "I Am Not a Nugget" T-shirt and a packet of meat-free chicken tenders. Oh yum. Think they'll be squawking to eat those in Honey Boo Boo's home? Not.
