Joining Katie Couric, Lady Gaga and Demi Lovato in going public with her eating disorder battle, singer and former Pussycat Dolls Nicole Scherzinger has admitted that she struggled with bulimia for years, according to Us Weekly on October 5. Reflecting on her eating disorder, Nicole views it as "embarrassing." And although she never took drugs, "doing things to myself was my addiction."
Now 34 years old, Nicole avoided talking about bulimia because she worried that it would hurt her family. "I never wanted my family to hear about things from me because I think it would break their heart," Nicole explained. "When I got off stage, I was on this high, and I'd come back to my room and I'd be alone, so I would just do things. My bulimia was my addiction; hurting myself was my addiction."
