No topic has sparked more interest and debate amongst diet and fitness circles as of late than celebrity trainer Tracy Andersons Metamorphosis DVDs. For every devotee praising Andersons miraculous body-sculpting abilities with accompanying before-and-after pictures, there seems to be someone else criticizing the pint-sized trainer for alleged legal woes, questionable workout techniques and an overly-strict diet regimen.

And while Anderson may count celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Leann Rimes and Kim Kardashian among her loyal followers, it turns out she may not be universally adored by Hollywoods elite. Actress Emma Stone recently admitted that with fame she feels more pressure to fit a certain stereotype, although she is quick to admit that she is not a fan of the extreme eating (or lack thereof) measures that some of her peers rely on to maintain their physiques:

That diet, have you seen it? Stone was quoted in the August issue of Vanity Fair. Its like: Eat this diet, which is a palm-size piece of chicken and some beans, and work out two hours a day for the rest of your life.

Well, based on my experience with the program, I do have a sneaking suspicion that the bulk of the secret to Andersons special sauce lies in the regimented eating plan. As I wrote previously, the 90-day program consists of nine rotating muscular structure workouts, plus a daily 30 minutes of cardio and a dynamic eating plan. After 30 days on the program, I gave some initial thoughts, but now that Im two-thirds of the way through (sans the diet), unfortunately I still have no measurable results to report thus far.

Although I appreciate that the muscular structure routine switches every 10 days to keep both mind and body guessing, the repetitive cardio component has become a bit of a drag; I would have much preferred if the program offered a new routine at least every month or so. Anderson does do a great job of tackling the accessory muscles with novel arm, ab and leg routines; however, the deeper I get into the program, the more I find myself wishing there were better cues and more thorough instruction. The breakneck pace makes routines all but impossible to keep up with the first few times through, and after I finally get the hang of it, various sections of uneven exercise counts and choppy editing only add to the frustration.

While I had hoped that the exercise portion would produce results as a standalone program, Anderson is quick to point out that diet plays a big role in the battle of the bulge: Food is a huge part of our life, but it is the biggest failure in terms of achieving the body of your dreams and keeping it," she has been quoted. "The worst thing we can do for ourselves is to diet to look good every once in a while, and then gain weight the rest of the time. A fat loss overview can help you construct a clear summarize of what you demand to focus on to accomplish your fat reducing objective if you're a rookie; or serve as a reminder for these who are at an advanced or more improve phase of their weightloss strategy. Following are seven steps that can serve as guidelines for your special weight loss plan. The first thing that one must understand is that losing weight and losing fat is not a similar thing. Many weight loss programs have misled people into wondering that it is the same, but most diets and weight loss programs only work by leading to a person's body to eliminate more muscle cells and water than actual body fat, more help please visit The Fat Loss Factor. Youre better off holding on to a little bit of weight instead of yo-yoing.

However, the fact that she recommends a very low-carb diet that consists of green juices (think spinach and kale), veggie-filled broths and protein bars that add up to (reportedly) approximately 1,200 calories a day, has me questioning the long-term sustainability of the program.

Nevertheless, Im two months down with one more to go and am keeping an open mind about the possibility of a personal metamorphosis, however small. Check back soon for my final thoughts on the program in my closing review.
