Biggest Loser host Alison Sweeney is the human face behind Hills Science Diets new Million Pound Pledge, and her Boston terrier Winky is the dog face.
Sweeney spent this past weekend in New York and Boston, kicking off the Million Pound Pledge while her weight-loss success story Winky chilled back at home in California.
Winky is front and center at the message of how important it is as pet owners to keep our pets healthy, she said in a phone interview. I love that I have such a personal story to share about my own pet because it helps me realize how important the message is.
Sweeneys vet let her know that her Boston terrier Winky was 2 pounds overweight, which may not seem like a lot, but on a 20-pound dog its a health risk. And obesity can affect dogs just as it does humans aches, pains, arthritis and even diabetes and heart problems.
Its really important to listen to your vet so they can inform you what is a healthy weight range for your pet, and to take them seriously, Sweeney said.
Sweeney discovered Hills Science Diet Weight Loss System and Winky lost those pounds and is feeling the effects.
