Once the Easter candy is gone and you're feeling guilty for eating all of the candy, you might wonder what you can do to start getting yourself back on track. With obesity so high in Oklahoma, it's can seem harder to get healthy in Enid than it might elsewhere. Sometimes you have to hunt for fitness related events, unless you have a fitness club membership.
On April 13th, the Garfield County Health Department will host a meeting where you can sign up to participate in the sixth annual Walk This Way Enid. The kick-off for this year's Walk This Way will be at 1 pm at the Cleveland Trailhead of the new walking trail the address is 1231 South Cleveland.
As in other years, the goal of Walk This Way is to encourage people to start walking at least 30 minutes a day. If you complete at least 1100 minutes of walking during this 6-week challenge, you'll be entered into a prize drawing. The prize categories include 18 and under, individual, teams and corporate participants.
Since the Walk This Way event encourages team participation, why not encourage a few friends to join the challenge with you? Not only will you get healthier, but you'll have a support group as well.

Even if you register before April 13th, you'll want to be sure that you go to the Walk This Way kickoff so you can get a t-shirt and an information packet about the walking challenge.
