Lets face ityoure not a celebrity and you dont have 2 hours each day to spend working out in order to look like one. However, you want to be lean and healthy and able to enjoy lifeand fitting in your high school jeans wouldnt be too shabby either!

So the question becomes: How often and how long do I need to work out to lose weight? This depends on a few factors, but the main saboteur of hard workouts is your diet. If you are willing to eat in moderation, your time in the gym neednt be excessive.

The average American who lives a sedentary lifestyle will statistically gain 10 pounds each year. This is gradual and steady and most people dont realize it until 5 or so years down the road when they see a picture of themselves and wonder, what happened?

If you are steadily gaining weight each year, and you maintain your current eating habits, you will need to work out 2 times each week for 30 minutes in order to maintain your present weight. On the flipside, if you maintain your current eating habits, you will need to work out 3-5 times per week for 30-90 minutes in order to lose weight.

Most celebrities work very hard to achieve the figures they have. My guess is you dont have two spare hours each day to spend working out, and even if you did have that time, you wouldnt want to spend it in the gym. And unless youve struck it rich, you probably cant afford the luxury of a private chef/nutritionist to make all your meals like the celebrities do.

So, what can you do? The answer is so simple yet we constantly miss it: MODERATION.
